9/12/09 - PA Association of Student Councils conference. Should our SGA plan to attend?
The conference will be November 12th to the 14th at Pennridge High School in Perkasie, PA (between Allentown and Philadelphia). We have participated in past years. It is always wise to have both Seniors and Juniors (and maybe Sophomores) attend. Think about two to four attendees and check out this site:
The Pep Rally will be on Friday, October 2 in the afternoon. Mr. Flint will is working with Mr. Elliott on a schedule for the day and is making final arrangements with the DJ. Michael Tobiasz and Danielle Barnett are the MCs.
9/13/09 - Homecoming
I finished making the pillars for the balloon archway. They aren't perfect but people in the stands won't be able to tell since they're so far away. They're actually shinier than the photo (cloudy when I took the picture). Balloons will be silver and black and will run between the pillars like in the photo below. I ordered these black balloons and we can just get some silver ones locally. I also purchased the red carpet. It's really nice Velvet that is 24' long and plenty wide enough. The first picture is the stuff from Anderson's. I ordered the posts with the red rope but from a different company. The ones in the photo below are like cardboard and wood but the posts I ordered are actually the real metal ones and are worth keeping. The second and third photo are from the stuff I made. -Mr. Flint
Someone needs to get in touch with a DJ really soon. Really soon! It's going to be a doubleheader job where they do the pep rally in the gym during school and then do the block party in the commons after the game. So... they'll have an extended gig.
Food for the block party. What do you want to sell?
9/20/09 - Mr. Millionaire
Congratulations go out to Alex Choate who is Mr. Millionaire for 2009-2010.
9/20/09 - Flaming Foliage Festival
Rebecca Frazier will be representing Williamsport Area High School at the 61st annual Pennsylvania Flaming Foliage Festival. She will spend the weekend of October 9th to 11th in Renovo, PA. Wish her luck as she competes with other candidates from Northcentral Pennsylvania for the title of Flaming Foliage Queen.
9/4/09 - School Board Representatives
The school board typically has two student representatives present a report at their regular meetings . The first meeting will be held on September 15th at 6:00pm at the District Service Center. The SGA selects two students who best represent the needs, concerns and views of the entire student body to the school board. School board representatives are expected to share student activities events with board members but should also consider initiating conversations with the board members about pressing student issues.
Kylie Kiess and Brooke Shultz will serve as the School Board Representatives for 2009-10
